One moment we are deep in reminiscence, reliving a memory, savoring its details or lamenting the way it went astray. The next we are drawn into a fantasy, watching an uncontrollable yearning play out in our mind's eye. Then we are back, here at this very moment of our lives, seeing the blue sky, the green grass, the colorful flowers.
The heart of meditation is lovely, so lovely that it can embrace all the landscapes inside us. Learning to embody the gorgeousness of meditation means to understand how awareness of the present moment and the wandering of imagination are dear friends. To do this, we gather beside the fire to share a nourishing meal, be near good hearted souls, and feel meditation's rejuvenating caress.
All are welcome to this evening meditation gathering. Food will be served around the fire, followed by a period of meditation and teaching.
$20 welcomed donation. All are invited, regardless of funds.
Please bring a set of dishes and utensils for yourself (2 small bowls, spoon, fork, knife, napkin, tea cup and water glass). Delicious side dishes, beverages, fruits and desserts are most welcome.
The meal: vegetarian--mushroom spaghetti sauce over pasta, sautéed garden greens, herbal tea.
If you have dietary restrictions, feel free to bring portable containers of your own meal.
