Just because something is not visible does not mean it is not there. Still, we commonly forget to look past the surface, past what our eyes can see. Without looking deeply, we may feel empty, lonely, confused. We long for what is sweet, refreshing, for what will give our life meaning.
Meditation gives us new eyes. These eyes don't look in desperation upon the surface appearances of our world; rather, these eyes look inward. We may say that they look under the earth of everyday life. Seeing that the surface bursts with rich, green plants and grasses, these eyes know that sweet water flows beneath. To meditate is to know how to drink this sweet water.
All are welcome to this evening of guided and silent meditation, followed by a meditation talk.
