All around us there are countless opportunities to feel grateful. Most of these are very close, so close that we look right past them. If we pay attention, just to breathe in and out is a cause for joy. Just to see the green earth, to hear its many sounds, to smell its endless scents, to taste its infinite flavors, to feel all the sensations of this body and all the thoughts and emotions of the heart and mind--this alone is a wonder
By making us aware of how much plentitude and bounty is all around us, meditation helps the heart and mind to relax and feel content. Such relaxation and contentment make life a joy.
This morning includes guided meditation, conversation and a talk on meditation, and a ceremony of gratefulness.
Feel free to bring offerings for a small ceremony: flowers, candles, incense, colorful fruits and berries, nuts, crackers, delicious drinks, and other small healthy snacks and sweets.
