False hope, True Hope: Knowing What Helps, Knowing What Hurts

  • The Living Mantra 125 Catalpa Street Santa Cruz, CA, 95062 United States (map)

Some hopes will never come true. If we hold on to these, we waste our lives in vain. Other hopes are uncertain; they are in the realm of possibility. They could come true, they could not. These hopes are especially important. They should be held on to. Though we can't say for certain their outcome, their presence is essential. These hopes reveal and give insight into the deepest longing of our hearts. If we hold on to these hopes, we may feel immense heartache, but this heartache softens us. We know the rawness of longing, the heart of meditation.

All are welcome to this evening of meditation, followed by a meditation talk
