Harsh Realities, Helpful Realizations: Being Inspired by What Scares You

  • The Living Mantra 125 Catalpa Street Santa Cruz, CA, 95062 United States (map)

We hear it said that some parts of life are depressing, dark, negative. An optimistic person, some say, focuses on what is hopeful, uplifting, optimistic. It is true that to be encouraged is vital and essential. With such struggles all around us, focusing on the positive strengthens our well-being and gives us the courage to go on.

At the same time, those so-called “depressing” aspects of life do not go away, even if we do not look at them. They will come; this is certain. Meditation shows us ways to face the parts of life we fear the most. Not only that, but meditation philosophy holds that profound, lasting happiness dwells right in the heart of those most troubling realities.

All are welcome to this evening of silent and guided meditation, a brief ceremony to embrace what is most important in life, and a meditation talk.

$20 welcomed donation. All are invited, regardless of funds.
